task 18:Typography

We had to find a font we would use for our sequence and it had to match our genre which is crime, drama and action. We had t odd some research and we ended up using daft to find a number of fonts which we liked and we found these which could potentially be our title fonts. i think they are all

This task made us look at fonts we would like yo use for our credits, we had to think if it was appropriate for our sub genre which was crime and thiller. it made us also think what font would most likely be used in a real film as in proper films, From doing this task, i realised that the typography can give glimpses of what the narrative is, for example, a handwritten font can mean that its based around children or students like in The Kings Of Summer.

Task 19: sound

Task 19: sound

Helium - Ambient, Hopeful - Composer: Gunnar Johnsén

Lean Away - Beats, Hopeful - Composer/Artist: Da Tooby

Slow heart beat
rap music for background noise
heavy breathing sound
footsteps on leaves
door slamming shut

These are the main sounds which we will need to add in while editing the sequence. There is a door slamming noise, a heavy breathing sound and a footsteps sound. We also have a slow heat beat and rap music for the background noise when one of the characters is at home. In our sequence, the whole atmosphere is going to be eery and the tension will be building up, this is why we have these sounds. Also, we have used the sounds to make the sequence seem more realistic.

We included the sounds such as door slamming and heart beats because we realised that the audio on our camera wasn't great and we couldn't really pick these things up so we opted to add diegetic sounds in. Also, we learnt that films need music and sounds to set a sort of tone or tell the audience about a chararter.

Task 17: Props, location and fashion planning

Task 17: Props, location, fashion, planning

In this task, we had to look at the props which would be used within our opening sequence aswell as the location and a risk assessment. we had to think in detail as to what we want our characters to wear and what props we need to make it a successful sequence

Props, location and fashion planning from mike tanner

From doing this task I learnt about some of the risks involved with shooting our opening sequence. Some of these are not very likely and are not very serious. However, because our sequence involves
flour which can be easily misjudged to be cocaine the likelihood of someone actually thinking it is and calling the police is quite likely, this will also be quite a serious issue if the police do turn up. Also i learnt what the props are going to be and how they will help the audience think about the whole narrative, such as wood and nails is intended to make the audience think abut what the chararter's hobbies are and what he enjoys doing which is a key part of our narrative.

Task 16: character Profiles

Task 16: Character profiles
In this task we had to make cards of who our characters are is detail and some things about them like their habits. We had to think about our characters and how they would be represented within our sequence. We wanted the characters to be stereotypical drug dealers and druggies.

Task 15: Final Storyboard and shot list

Task 15: final storyboard and shot list

We had to think about our opening sequence and we had to think about what camera shots we are going to use in each different scene and shot.

Task 13: audience profile

Task 13: Audience Profile

in this task, we had to discuss what our audience is going to be, we had to create an audience rate card to explain hat our audience is.

From doing this task, i really found out exactly who our audience is, both primary and secondary. it made us think who we wanted our film to be aimed at and why. In the end we chose late teenagers as it is more relative and relatable to that age bracket as that is the age most people who do drugs start and the characters in the film are that of a similar age.

Learning Comment
I have thought of 2 scripts which we could use for our opening sequence. I learnt that to make a opening sequence effective, you don't need to include a long script or even a script at all. however, scripts are used to sort of set the scene within the opening couple of minutes. In our sequence we have a script which isn't too long and is associated with crime which is what our narrative is all about. Also, i have used the basic skills to form a script which is relevant to our sequence.
